ISLAMABAD: Authorities have blocked all the major roads leading to the federal capital in a bid to prevent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers from joining the November 2 protest.
Reportedly, police have placed shipping containers at Rashkai Interchange and Khairabad Bridge – causing great inconvenience to the party activists as well as the common citizen. Heavy contingents of police personnel have also been deployed on various roads leading from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad to stop the rallies coming from there.
The Peshawar to Islamabad Motorway has been closed at the Swabi Interchange while barricades have also been placed at Mardan and Nowshera road. On the other hand, police in different cities of Punjab have also warned the transporters against facilitating the PTI workers.
