KARACHI: Sixty more dengue viral fever cases have been detected in Karachi in a week, taking the patients toll to 998 in the city since 1st January 2016.
As per weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, 64 new dengue fever cases surfaced in Sindh province since 26 August to 1st September 2016, out of which 60 were reported from Karachi, and two each from Hyderabad and Ghotki.
Last week, a total of 60 new dengue fever cases were reported in Karachi, out of which 14 were reported from District Central, 13 from District South, four from District West, 19 from District East, five each from District Korangi and District Malir, respectively.
In 2016, a total 1,085 dengue fever cases had been reported in Sindh province since 1st January 2016, out of which 998 were detected from Karachi, 29 from Hyderabad, seven from Ghotki ,six each from Sukkur and Larkana, five from Tando Muhammad Khan, four each from Mirpurkhas, Khairpur and Shikarpur , three each from Dadu, Tharparkar, Shaheed Benazirbad and Thatta ,two each from Badin, Jamshoro,UmerKot, Sanghar and Naushero Feroz.
One death was reported from dengue fever in ShaheedBenazirabad this year.
