PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that his Ehtesab (accountability) rally would reach federal capital on August 14, the independence day of Pakistan.
While addressing a large gathering of PTI supporters during Ehtesab rally in Khairabad, he announced that the party would remain on the streets till justice was served. “Corruption is the biggest issue in Pakistan and a great movement has been launched so that the corrupt rulers should be taken to task,” Imran said while speaking to PTI workers in Khairabad.
The rally began on Sunday and the PTI workers turned out for the first day of the rally, which set out from Peshawar city to Attock along the Grand Trunk Road. The streets in Peshawar were almost packed with the party’s supporters who had reached from different cities including Dir, Kohat, Malakand, Karak and Bannu.
On the other hand, in response to PTI’s rally, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) also conducted a rally rightwhere the PTIO’s rally began, in Peshawar. Political bashing remained at its peak during PMLN gathering and the party leaders criticised Imran and PTI for their policies that barley produced any of the results as were claimed by the PTI chairman before the elections.
