ISLAMABAD: The Customs officials have foiled a major bid to smuggle cell phones at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) while arresting four alleged smugglers.
On a tip-off, the customs officials conducted snap checking of luggage of four passengers’ and seized over 1500 cell phones from their possession on Saturday at Islamabad Airport.
The four passengers had arrived Islamabad from Dubai on a private airline, said an airport official on condition of anonymity.
The smugglers identified as Faisal and Waqas, hailing from Karachi, moreover, Abdullah and Aziz ul Rehman hailed from Kohat.
The accused were arrested and shifted to jail for further investigations.
